Chris Cornell. What the hell are you doing?

Lets start here (:56):

From NW obscurity, to fronting a wildly successful band in the early 90s, to cancelling gigs to model $200 jeans?

Also, Chris Cornell is now apparently working in collaboration with Timbaland to produce his R&B album.

The boy's having a mid-life crisis.

What the hell is Kim Thayil doing nowadays?

P.S.: Here's some vintage Soundgarden for ya...

Thayil's been hanging around the Southern Lord guys, couple of nice guitar parts on Altar and the Ascend album

Given the clips floating around, this album seems like it's going to be pretty diverse. Long Gone is definitely one of the softer ones. At any rate, Chris's albums have always been diverse, so there's bound to be stuff to please those whose tastes lean towards Soundgarden. Besides, he's still playing live sets with plenty of Soundgarden material.

New material sounds great live -- check it out on youtube!

Hmmm...judging from the article comments and pictures of Chris Cornell, you have a little catching up to do (there seems to be a period of time - 10 years or so - where you weren't listening to music??). That said, I think Chris has done a fine job of keeping his music fresh and creative, rather than becoming a stagnant musician who resembles a caricature more than an artist. Anyway, I think Chris sounds fantastic, & I can hardly wait to hear the WHOLE CD!!

I enjoyed his first solo record. I did not enjoy Audioslave. I don't agree with his new direction in music. Soundgarden reminds me of what I like that Chris Cornell has done. Nuff said.

I love them all! Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Euphoria Morning, Audioslave, solos, etc. I already love Watch Out. And Long Gone is growing on me. Can't wait to see them performed live!

Kim Thayil played on the Probot record, appears on the Sunn/Boris split and recently played on Ascend, another Greg Anderson project.
